To combat money laundering and financing of terrorist groups, the United States Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act, which will become effective January 1, 2024. The Act requires ownership reporting for corporations, limited liability companies, and similarly registered entities in the United States.
If you registered your business prior to January 1, 2024, you must file an initial report before January 1, 2025 or you risk significant civil and criminal penalties. To learn more, or to file your initial report, visit Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting | FinCEN.gov
