Broadmore has many strengths, but our greatest strength is in our experience.
Kevin Thompson has over 10 years’ experience at both county and local level politics, and over 15 years of experience in the natural gas industry. Kevin is the principle and owner of Broadmore Consulting, bringing public and private sectors together for win-win solutions. In his positions, he has built solid working relationships at all levels of government, from federal to state to county and local.
Kevin has first-hand knowledge in the design, construction, community outreach, regulatory and government relations, and emergency response arenas. He has led design teams for not only regulatory compliance projects, but new residential, commercial, and retail service installations as well. He has overseen bid proposals for multi-million-dollar natural gas pipeline projects and routinely brought together municipal inspectors and company construction personnel to ensure all stakeholders understood the working and construction constraints for every project.
As Kevin transitioned into the role of Corporate Government Relations, he monitored, researched, analyzed legislation and engaged stakeholders on specific policies that could adversely impact the company’s ability to operate successfully. He negotiated agreements with local municipalities to operate within the municipalities Right-of-Way, and initiated the update and revision of various local government’s ordinances that were outdated and intrusive.
Kevin currently serves as an elected official on the Mesa City Council, where he represents the fastest growing area of Mesa. With Kevin’s time on City Council, our opportunities are ever expanding as we develop an even wider network in both the public and private sectors. In addition to the many relationships developed over the years, we have established new relationships through participation in local, state, and national boards and committees.
Kevin has worked with land attorneys, land owners, and developers to help navigate them through General Plan amendments and zoning changes, worked through multiple procurement opportunities with one of Europe’s largest owners of streetlights, worked with an auction company that provided auction services for vehicles and surplus equipment, and worked with a client that develops applications for first responders. Each of these has brought unique challenges and opportunities to grow and expand our network.
In the regulatory environment, Kevin developed a Quality Assurance/Quality Control program for a master pipeline contractor for a local natural gas distribution company. Working in a highly regulated field, like natural gas, requires detailed procedures and records to ensure compliance with state and federal rules.
